Helpful Advice:
Mental Health Diagnosis: It’s normal to have challenges when coping with a new diagnosis, learning about it, developing new strategies, supports and ways of coping. Therapy can support you through it.
Parenting support: Be open to new strategies. What works for one child may not for another. Practise patience. Join support groups to learn from others. Seeking help shows strength.
Grief Counseling: Grief is personal with no set timeline. Feel emotions without judgement. Establish rituals to honour your loss. Healing isn’t linear. Professional help can guide you.
Domestic Violence Recovery: Prioritise safety. Create a safety plan with professionals. Learn about abuse cycles. Engage in therapy to rebuild self-esteem. The abuse wasn’t your fault. Recovery is possible.
Rebuilding relationships: Reflect on past relationships. Identify your needs and boundaries. Focus on self-care. In new relationships, communicate openly. It’s okay to take things slow.
Understanding self and others: Practise self-reflection and mindfulness. Learn about mind-body connection. Develop emotional intelligence. Remember everyone’s experiences are unique. Be patient with your growth.
Postnatal Care: It’s okay to ask for help. New motherhood can be overwhelming, and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Prioritise sleep when you can, and remember to take care of yourself as well as your baby
Menopause: Remember, menopause is a natural transition, not an illness. Every woman’s experience is unique. Focus on self-care, including regular exercise, a balanced diet, and stress-reduction techniques like meditation or yoga.
